Pat McAfee shares bold prediction about Colts' Anthony Richardson

Former Indianapolis Colts punter and current media giant Pat McAfee is a big believer in Indianapolis rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson this summer.

As shared by Miles Schachner of the New York Post, McAfee entered the Amazon Prime broadcast booth during Thursday's preseason clash between Indianapolis and the Philadelphia Eagles. He then offered praise for commentators Kirk Herbstreit and Al Michaels before delivering quite the walk-off prediction.

"You guys have called a great half. It’s been a blast. I’ve only been able to see about 75% of the game from the corner of the booth, but it’s an honor to watch you guys work," McAfee told the duo before adding:

"Anthony Richardson’s gonna lead us to a Super Bowl."

Many, if not most, assumed Richardson would begin his debut NFL season as a backup largely due to the fact that he recorded just 13 college starts with the Florida Gators and probably needs some time to develop as a pro. However, head coach Shane Steichen named Richardson the club's QB1 after just a single preseason appearance, and the 21-year-old now will prepare to officially open his career versus the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 10.

According to CBS Sports, Richardson completed 13 of 29 preseason pass attempts (44.8%) for 145 yards with zero touchdowns and one interception. He also added 45 rushing yards on seven carries.

As of Friday afternoon, OddsChecker listed Richardson as third among betting favorites at +800 odds to earn Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. At that same time, OddsChecker had the Colts third among AFC South teams at +700 odds to claim the division title.

Richardson may or may not have made some enemies among Philadelphia fans thanks to a certain celebration he showcased at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday evening. Such confidence theoretically could either help him find success as a Week 1 starter or could provide some bulletin-board material for opposing defenses.
